As 2022 came to a close, I was able to wrap up a project I started earlier in the year with Jess Hopkins Photography. I met Jess through her husband years ago, but recently Jess has taken a giant leap to follow her passion and dreams and ventured into being a full-time photographer. As she has started diving deeper into photography, I''ve been able to assist with some tips and techniques, which has also inspired me to continue to learn more about my craft.
I've recently started the process of bringing back a personal project that I started many years ago when I lived in Georgia. This project is based on documenting artisans in fields slowly fading away and becoming more hobbies or skills of the past. My goal with this project is to spotlight talented artisans and remind people of the skills and crafts that were prevalent a short time ago.
Over Thanksgiving, I traveled back to Georgia to visit family and catch up with an old photography friend. While there, I got to work with Lyn on her senior portraits. Lyn is a drummer for a metal band in Rome, Ga, and an aspiring graphic artist. After talking to Lyn, it was clear that sticking to the traditional senior portrait was not the goal.
